History

AmeriCredit was founded in September 1992 and opened its first branch offices in Fort Worth and Houston. By September 1994, AmeriCredit had established 20 branches in 15 states. Today, AmeriCredit operates with numerous credit centers and sales representatives located throughout the U.S. and Canada, and works with more than 12,000 franchised automobile dealers across North America.

AmeriCredit Corp. is a leading independent automobile finance company that provides financing solutions indirectly through auto dealers in the United States and Canada. AmeriCredit has over one million customers and more than $15 billion in managed auto receivables. The Company was founded in 1992 and is headquartered in Fort Worth, Texas.
